Practical and thought-provoking
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This book takes the lessons from Homer’s Odyssey and applies the principles learned by the main character, Odysseus, to modern times. Prophet took me on a journey though Odysseus’ trials and at the end of each ‘episode’ there were lists of traits that are under the headings, ‘Strengths’ and ‘Weaknesses’ as well as questions to answer to further gain insight into the areas of my life that are good and areas that need to be addressed. Then, she offered winning strategies that corresponded with the chapter as well as a section entitled ‘Where am I going?’ that helped me to hone practical ways of incorporating the lessons learned.

The pictures are beautiful and the structure of this book is just awesome. I went to the bookstore and flipped through it. I immediately knew this book was a winner. There are also thought-provoking quotes along the way that add another dynamic and power to the book that I found really meaningful.

I really liked her interpretations of this classic tale and at times felt like she was talking directly to me because the issues were so applicable to my situation. I marked up and wrote ALL over this book and in doing so, I think that helped me to absorb the deeper meanings rather than just read about them. I found out a lot about myself after having finished the book.

I recommend this book to any and all soul-searchers because you will find something here that pertains to you and your situation and will find ways to elevate yourself to your highest calling. Listen to your higher self and overcome the urges of your lower self…that is the moral of the story of Odysseus.
